Finding Friends Across Multiple Languages: Dharmamitra as a Multilingual Discovery Tool for Buddhist Textual Research

I presented this paper at the PNC 2026 Annual Conference and Joint Meetings (Pacific Neighborhood Consortium), held September 9–11, 2026 at the Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts in New Taipei City. The talk introduced the problem of cross-lingual discovery in Buddhist textual research, the Dharmamitra system, the MITRA language model, and takeaways from how Dharmamitra is being used by the research community.
